Marina Benkhina, MA, LMFT
M.A. in Counseling Psychology
Helping children and adults improve their relationships, deal more effectively with emotions, and create the lives they desire has been a passion of mine for years.
In fact, given my previous experience as a teacher, educator, and counselor in Ukraine before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1998, you could say I’ve been passionate about helping children and adults achieve their full potential for decades!
After adjusting to a new language and a new life in the United States, I graduated from John F. Kennedy University with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology.
Since then, I’ve worked at Almaden Valley Counseling Center, where I provided counseling and psychotherapy to individual adults, couples, children, and families.
My therapeutic style tends to be eclectic, which simply means I use techniques from different theoretical orientations to adjust each and every session to meet your needs and goals.
While I draw on and incorporate mindfulness techniques, humanistic-existential models, art and process models, emotional focused therapy, and attachment theory, the most important determinant for successful therapy is the relationship you develop with your therapist.
I invite you to contact me to learn more about the services I offer and see if we’d be a good fit.
Warmly,
Marina
